The International Outreach Committee of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network is aimed at the following objectives:
- To build alliances with international organizations, monitor their activities and communicate these activities to members of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network, in order to guard against duplication and to benefit from shared knowledge.
- To disseminate up-to-date, reliable, publicly available information on anti-counterfeiting issues to members of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network.
- To amass, analyze and provide useful information from foreign jurisdictions to members of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network on the following topics:
- International laws, regulations, procedures and sentencing.
- Successful commercial solutions used by IP owners in foreign jurisdictions to combat counterfeiting.
- Successful investigative techniques used in foreign jurisdictions.
- Successful enforcement relationships, alliances and affiliations used in foreign jurisdictions.
- Successful strategies used by private industry to compile, track and analyze information on counterfeits and investigation/enforcement activities.
- To encourage members of the Canadian Anti-counterfeiting Network to provide their private intelligence/information to the INTERPOL database.
- To ensure that Canadian efforts and successes in this area are reflected to the international community.
